Ok, calm down. You're just getting nervous (and rightfully so!), but your delivery will go fine. IF your baby was so large that you cold not deliver, your doctor would perform a c-section.

Talk to your doctor about your worries, and when you are in labor, dont try to suffer it out, get an epideral!!

As for your current pain, try to stay off your feet as much as possible. Also, try sitting in a comfortable recliner as opposed to laying in a flat bed. Ask your hubby/ bf to give you light massages, to help relax your muscles.

Also, the guesstimates of what your baby's weight will be are usually no where close to the actual amount! My mother was absolutely huge when she was pregnant with my baby brother and he was just under seven pounds when he was born. You have a lot of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby, which could make you look gigantic, without the baby being THAT big!

Congratulations!

The is no saying you are going to have a 10 pounder. I had a U/S at 31 weeks and they told me that the baby was a lb over weight for how far along i was. I was scared to death thinking i was going to have a huge baby. She came out 7lb5oz and 21 inches long. I was all baby also. I gained nothing my entire pg. Dont listen to what others have to say when cracking those not so funny jokes. You will be fine. As for the pain have you thought about getting a belly band? They take an enormous amount of pressure off your hips and pelvis area.

In the end no matter what you have endured this entire time you will forget about it once you are holding that baby in your arms.Congrats and good luck!

My first was like that too hon, it was awful. I slept in a recliner for the last two weeks... if you have one, try that.
They thought she was over ten pounds too. Turns out she didn't want to come out either so after being ten days late and assuming by that point she was over eleven pounds, they induced me for three days and then I had a c-section anyway! Her head was too damn big!!! LOL Luckily she knew not to even try coming out that way!
I have to say I am all for a c-section - no prob at all and have had another since. The recoup is fine and if they say your baby is too big for a vaginal delivery, don't be afraid of the section. IT really isn't all that bad!!
Oh and my baby was less than ten pounds (they are so often inaccurate with the weight pre-delivery, don't let it throw you).
Good luck and try to get some rest!!! Keep your feet up as much as possible too - it takes the pressure off your hips!!

Do NOT! i mean DO NOT listen to those who r saying u will not have a big baby!!! if ur gyno is telling u u r it means u most probably r!! he can measure the weight thru ultrasound and that will be pretty much accurate!...my doctor was warning me all the time but i didnt care and I ended up with a 10 lb baby girl (now 14 mo) and an emergency c-section! now m not really sure on y and how some of us have big babies, i can tell u this is the first in both our families, i have no diabetes nor high blood pressure my weight is perfectly normal, except that my belly never really went back to its normal size...:(....i guess the trick is to not let ourselves indulge in all that looks and smells good and we should watch our diet throughout the whole 9 months!! i tried to do some research on y some women(of normal size) have big babies and i even asked my gyno but all i got is some answers that i could not relate to my condition! this is still a mystery to me, and although it was tough the last few weeks , and also was upset that i couldnt deliver normally, but i consider myself blessed! i had a healthy baby who did everything on time and never got sick until lately...and was up on her feet by 8 mo and walking alone at 1o mo!!!....i will try to control myself in the next preg coz i wanna try and have a normal delivery! Good luck and congrats!

I feel your pain, girl. That last bit is f-ing horrible. My baby is 5 months old and half my friends and relatives still barely like me b/c I was so mean at the end!!!

Sleep upright if you can. Go have your toes done and/or have a massage. Pricey but well worth it when you're this miserable.

By the way, you are perfectly capable of having a ten pound baby, if that's what you've got in there. Don't let people freak you out about it. Trust your body and yourself and hire a doula if you're really nervous about the delivery. She can help you now and especially provide the support you need in labor.

First of all, get a DOULA!!! :-) She'll help ease your concerns and make you feel better about the birth. Also, if there is any difficulty popping that baby out, she can do "ilium compression" which is squeezing your hip bones together in order to flex your pelvis in such a way to allow the baby to rotate out. You must be on your hands and knees for this to happen, so sorry, no epidurals. ;-) If you try to have a large baby with an epidural you're probably in for vaccuum extraction which may leave you with a muscle tear. better to go the natural way and pop that baby right out.

I was huge when I was prego and everyone said I was having a really big baby including my doctor, My son weighed 7lbs 7oz. Just because your belly is huge doesnt mean your baby will be. As far as sleeping no nothing works and I mean nothing. It will be here sooner than you think and thats when the hard part begins

You can't do nothing....but wait. Don't listen to people that are not that smart. I had my son last February and people were telling me I looked like I was about to pop at 7mths and then they would say oh well you are having a girl because you are carrying high/low (one of those), then people would tell me I was going to have a 9lb baby. OKAY.....I had a 7lb 10oz little boy. You will be fine....

I would say that if your doctor knew that you were going to have a 10lb baby, that he would induce you. I doubt that you are having 10lbs. You have fluid that is surrounding that baby, you may have a lot of fluid. But if it is a concern, you may want to talk to your doctor. They can check the weight for you. With both of my kids, I was big. But my boys were 7'4 and the other was 8'3. And towards the end of the pregnancy (last month) you will be so miserable) if it hurt that bad, call your doctor.
