You can get a BArch or a MArch (Bachelor's or Master's). BA degrees are 5 year programs usually. Cornell and COlumbia and USC have good schools. AFter graduating you have to work for a while and take continuing education to get your AIA if you want to be a registered architect.

i'm studying to be an architect right now. taking some basic courses at a community collegle would be a good start. then take a look at Kent State. i know a large group of architects and engineers that have graduated from there.
i go to school for computer drafting and design and then will be moving up to engineering and archictecture.
take it slow at first and then once you have the skills that you need you'll be able to get thru school and get out into the architecture field. work experience goes a long way in this field, you can always count on that. good luck
