she smokes in the bathroom. Every time I get up in the middle of the night, I accidentally bump into her ashtray and spill the ashes all over myself.

She does not sleep on her bed. Instead, she sleeps on the couch where I can hear her alarm clock go off. She snoozes it for about an hour or two until finally getting up!

How do I politely talk to her and say that this stuff is burdening me? I do not want to be mean because she is my mom, but I've had enough of it!

I've tried talking to her before about this stuff, but she just brushed me off. For instance, she says she'll go to her bed. I keep asking her to, but she never goes to her own bed and stays on the couch. Then, I have talked to her about the ashtray but she brushed me off as if I didn't matter.

Well i would just come out with it, yes it is your mother and you are living in her house... however she should respect you and your rights as well!! Just ask her if she could possible stop it (nicely!!) Have a talk with her, im sure she can rationalize.. even a little!!
