Ghost rider.

Etrigan may be powerfull, but from what I remember, he is remorsefull about his sins. Combine this with ghost rider's penance stare, etrigan would be a drooling vegetable before the first punch or hellfire blast was ever thrown.

Most of that has happened by now, but I guess I'll throw in my opinion... Superman has a higher intellect than the Hulk, not to mention all of his other sometimes dopey abilities, Kal wins. Batman has more gadgets than Captain America, perhaps smarter, plus isn't Captain America dead right now? Storm'd beat Wonder Woman easily. Well the Flash and Quicksilver...That's hard to say. Quicksilver is an *** sometimes, ultimate Quicksilver is into the twincest, so I'm gonna just go with the Flash. The Silver Surfer, he's just more powerful. Spider-Man would win hands down, he's got more experience. Lobo scares me...But I'm cluess as to who would win. They're both immortal, so, wtf. Well Steel used to be actually Steel, then I'd say he had a chance, but Tony Stark has all of that money that he could easily build something to thump the chump. Ms. Marvel could suck up anything Power Girl throws at her. I'm so much more of a Huntress fangirl, but Elektra has more agility. Thor. Thor wins everything. Thor has a hammer. Well Jubilee may be easy on the eyes, but her powers? Neh. Robin wins. Jubilee doesn't even have powers anymore... Magneto. The Joker is an evil genius, the Green Goblin fails at everything he tries (unless it's making Peter Parker cry which isn't saying much) X-Men, for a number of reasons. Waaaaaay more X-Men, waaaaaay better powers. And Teen Titans couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. JLA. DC wins, because they don't rely on bringing back every other character after killing them off. The also don't rely on making numerous films, even if they start to get sucky. In my opinion, DC is more quality orientated. Marvel is more quanity.

I was initially going to say Ghost Rider. Then I remembered that Demon is a Jack Kirby creation, and this triggered a memory:

Mister Miracle is also a Kirby creation. In one of his early adventures, he went back to Apokolips, and had to fight a hideous creature, mind-to-mind, in what was called 'The realm of the Id'. The creature was ugly, helpless, cringing, fearful of facing the reality of its own worthless ugliness. But, in the realm of the Id, it was powerful, strong, didn't have to listen to any nasty comments about how it was so homely, etc.

Mister Miracle defeated it by breaking of a piece of glass from the ground (created by a small fission blast duing the course of their fight!) and hitting his opponent with the one weapon he couldn't withstand-- his own reflection-- the truth of his own, hideously ugly appearance!

So, if Demon grabbed a mirror, he could turn the Ghost Rider's best weapon against him! (And it would be classically appropriate, as Perseus used a mirror to defeat the Gorgon Medusa.) Granted that Ghost Rider has caused many people pain over his career, many of them by the use of the Pennance Stare, it would be appropriate for him to suffer for having used it by having it used on him!

Put a mirror-lined helmet on Ghost Rider that he can't take off and, (since, IIRC, he has a skull for a head, and no eyelids) he would be unable to CLOSE HIS EYES and stop using the Pennance Stare on himself...!!!!

If I was Immortal, I would obviously be the better man, as I could not die no matter what. My opponent would eventually tire, and die later anyway, so regardless, eternal life wins out.
