... I mean... to question yes... of course... I mean they can make the cuts from a million different places... what's to say they are cutting where they should be cutting from?

but an attempt should be made to balance the budget... but that doesn't give someone an excuse to just randomly cut programs that may be important...

let's say they wanted to completely cut out all defense spending... and I wanted to "complain"... that doesn't mean I don't want a balanced budget, but I just don't agree with how they are doing it...

it's really pretty simple..

lancelot6... what you're saying is correct, but the flaw is... we're not paying it back...we're making like payments of $2 on borrowing $300 and it's not even paying for the interest accrued, so we're really paying like $600 to borrow $300... pretty stupid if you ask me...

I don't mind a debt that is managed wisely...

How many credit cards do you have? Do you pay them ALL off at the end of every month? I bet not!
Why should the Government be any different then you? The only difference is the amount. They can afford to have a $300B debt because they usually have a $4T+ Budget.

Maybe you don't understand the math, but essentially it is like having a budget of $4,000 and borrowing $300.

Makes more since once you make the money as most Americans see it.

I think it is as logical as lowering taxes and increasing spending. I don't do that at home, and the government shouldn't do it now. But I agree with the person who said the logic may lie in WHERE we are cutting...cutting funding for schools and social programs for children in order to 'bring democracy to the middle east' (or whatever the excuse is this week for that war) is unconscienable and un american.
