I will be there with a heavy heart.
Mr. Eko was my favorite character.
They kill him off and introduce those 2 new characters. The twit w/ her hooters half hanging out and the guy who can't keep his shirt buttoned.
I guess they feel eye candy is better than interesting characters.
I'm a bit bitter.

Argh! I was so mad! At least he got to tell off his brother (or whatever) before he died. I thought his brother was kind of a jerk for always acting all holy and disappointed when so many of the things Ekko did were to protect him in the first place. Good for him for saying it!
I heard that the guy who played Ekko recently had a DUI in Hawaii. As did the girl who played Libby and the girl who played Anna Lucia. Coincidence? "Lost" cast members had best lay off the booze, or they may find their characters have an unfortunate ending.

#4 post I'm answering on Lost this morning lol, now 7:36am. I have to admit, I cried when Echo died. I really wasn't expecting that at all. I think the survivors need to learn not to follow dead/missing people into the jungle because the turn out is never good when they do. I hope they aren't replacing Echo with those two really annoying people (guy and girl) who went with Locke and them into the new hatch. They have go to bring Echo back or something. Really disapointing. I'll be there at noon with ya :)

It was his time. He made peace within himself and his brother and he rebuilt his brother's church. It is time. But what worries me most is Locke said he saw a bright light and Mr Ekko saw the black smoke. Uh oh.....you know what that means. It's not fair. He did kill the old man in order to save his brother's life from the warlords.
Rest in Peace, Brother. See You on the Other Side

It was sad and disappointing he was killed off tonight but there was always talk that any of the main characters are expendable. We can expect more to die later this season.
Eko really added something interesting to the show. He was trying to redeem himself for his past sins but he was not able to admit his guilt and truly confess. In his mind, it's okay to commit a sin for his family. He was not remorseful and did not see killing as a sin when his "brother" asked him to confess in the field. I think that is why when the black smoke came to impose his sentence, his sentence was death.
The end cannot always justify the means.

YES - good that he said it but you don't you get the impression that he was saying it to the devil or whatever evil entity that was who took his life??? I am so confused....

Yeah it sucks big time. So now all of the Tallies are dead or imprisoned except Bernard who is pretty much useless in the grand scheme of the show.

Yeah, I was shocked and disappointed, too. I really liked his character. But, there is a pattern of the characters making peace with themselves and dying off [Boon/Shannon].

No character is safe, no matter how cool they are. Sad, huh? Eko was a cool guy. He'll be missed.
