When opening a new account at Compass Bank, the staff asked me if I want an online banking. I said yes, and then he asked me the username, password hint and my answer for password hint. Is it ok if I give him these information?

It depends on the companies privacy policy, some will require that you tell the information to a in store teller (I assume), usually I just fill out the forms online (but then again my bank offers almost everything online). Regardless if you are concerned about it, you can always ask for a supervisor or check the policy on the papers that you signed.

If you are speaking with a banker and you know you are then, yes, he will need that information in order to set up your online account. Also, the bank will do a check on your pc to make sure it has a high enough security and encryption. They won't allow you to bank on line until you have proper encryption.

Yes because you can always change everything once you have the account they don't give out your info.I know I changed everything once I got on line but I had 2 wait 1wk
