Of Bush’s 154 targets, the Education Department would suffer the most losses: He would kill 48 of its programs worth $4.3 billion and cut two others.

Another nine Justice Department programs worth $1.5 billion would be erased, including grants for hiring local police officers and for communications equipment.

The tax cuts increased revenue. Which basically means these billionaires (which are corporations 8 times out of 10) made a larger profit and had to pay more taxes. They also hired more people who paid taxes.

We have a huge deficit. Whenever there's a deficit things must be cut. The main campaign platform right now is "fiscal responsibity". Look for more cuts, even if the war ends. That's how they balanced the budget during the Clinton Era as well. Cutting funding.

I guess it all depends on who's money you really think it is. I happen to think the money I earn is mine not the government. I didn't see anybody from the government standing on the roof of a 200 ft tall building at 2:00 am helping me and my crew install a new exhaust stack. But when I got my check they made sure they got a cut of it. How fair is that.

As for helpful programs I wish you could name one. The government educational system cranks out graduates that couldn't make change to save their own lives and worship government as God. They think the constitution grants them rights instead of limiting government power. Education is the responsibility of parents not the government.

As for the grants for hiring local police that was a joke and still is. Sure we got 100,000 cops on the street. A lot of them in towns that didn't even have a police force. Several of them in Oklahoma are under federal investigation for running speed trap scams and stealing confiscated drug money.

There's even one small town that didn't have a single policeman until the program and had almost no crime. Now they've got an entire police force and several of their officers have be arrested for various offenses including driving their police cars across the State line and speeding in nearby towns. What a waste of "my" money.

One government agency also bought millions of dollars worth of house trailors for Katrina victims and then another government agency wouldn't let them deliver them to the victims to use. Instead they wound up paying hotel bills for them to stay in. Meanwhile the trailors are left to rot at the Hope, Arkansas airport.

Gee I'm glad the government took that money away from me. I might of wasted it, by saving for my retirement, paying off my home mortgage, or even giving it away to a charity. Instead its rotting away at a closed down airport in southeast Arkansas.

Keep raising my taxes and increasing benefits of not working and I will quit working and join the rest of you deadbeats.

Not only that so far with the connivance of the Republican controlled house and senate they have raided the Social Security Trust Fund of 500,000,000 Dollars to pay for the War in Iraq ...He is the first President ever to support tax cuts at a time of war...its clear to see where this mans priorities are.

Your lists are from far left field web sites that misrepresent the facts. President Bush has not cut education at all. What he has done is limit education spending GROWTH. Compared to defense spending, education spending is the size of an elephant while defense is that of a horse.

Business is the engine of our economy. If you penalize the wealthy for investing in business, your economy dives. To prove my point, let's look at the record. When taxes rise, revenue falls. When taxes are reduced, revenues rise.

grow a brain and stop buying the conspiracy crowds' bs. Look at actual results of liberals' policies. Welfare, have we won the war on poverty? No! Socialized health-care? everywhere its been tried, it has failed. You get poorer care and endless red tape. People die waiting their turn for the much needed operation. Affirmative action? More blacks are unemployed and illiterate than ever. Name a successful program the libs have invented.

Also, you have to remember, when the billionaires have money to spend, they will spend it.
