how do i scan a music download from limewire before i open it on my pc to be certain that it is not infected with virus?

Limewire is currently under siege from the governments of several countries for copyright infringement. I would suggest you switch to another P2P program immediately.

Get you a virus protection program that will scan while downloading. One good program that is free is
http://www.avast.com/
They offer a commercial product but if you use it for personal use its free...
It even updates automatically and will give you an AUDIO "WARNING this program/file contains a virus" and graphic warning as well... ITS A GREAT program!!!

have all your downloads in 1 folder then right hit on that folder hit on scan with antivirus . but just /bc ur antivirus come up with no virus found. there will be spyware. adaware. trojans. mailware in files from limewire so ur need to have ur files scan for spyware. adaware. trojans. mailware as well if you have not done that then ur pc has mailware .trojans in ur pc registry as well so ur need to clean out ur pc AVG an spybot .Adaware will not save ur pc ur need more to check da pc over and scan for spyware. adaware. trojans. mailware in virus in safemode

Use your anti virus program on your computer...see if it has a rightclick menu option...scan with ******
