Talk or write to him while he is serving his time. If you believe he is really going to clean up his act, then offer to pick him up when he finally get released. If you think he is still going to be stupid, let him walk back to your state.
If he lies & says he is going to clean up but starts drinking on the ride back to your state, leave his butt at the strore or bar when he tries to buy liquor again.
