Depends on who your God is.

Ask him/her/it about the forgiveness thing.

Then give the bike back. You shouldn't steal things that belong to others. That's not religion, that's morality.

I see you have quite a few answers here, and WE won't truly know if you care, or check any. It may be this is just another inane attempt to seek attention?

Assume for a moment there is a GOD,,, I mean no offense to anyone BTW... I'm trying to make a point.

Assume that YOU believe in GOD, since you asked if HE would "forgive" you. It sounds like you were "TESTING" the SYSTEM"

Assume then, IF you believe there is a GOD,,,do you suspect that HE condones theft on any level, as a test of your belief/faith, or might it be that HE never intended the species to believe that ASKING FORGIVENESS after the fact was acceptable,,,no matter the crime???

HOW "IT" WORKS? Is as inane as anything I've yet read here, and yet I suspect that IF you believe, you already have some CLUE as to the answer.

I might offer a suggestion. Think of LIFE as being directed, by whom or whatever. Call it the Universe, the Cosmos, Karma, GOD,,, any name you wish.

Then consider that an old saying is pretty accurate,,,"What goes around, comes around."

If you live your life by that concept, and are willing to WAIT until an after life, to be forgiven, then I suggest you don't feel shock, or amazement, anger or disappointment, when negative things happen TO YOU,,,and I am not speaking of ASKING GOD for a BIKE.

Your parents, or any other family members may not be GOD, but why wouldn't you have asked one or all of them first?

If in fact you're sincere, and just naive, I don't really wish to insult or offend you, but GADS,,, think about the question, and some of the answers.

Rev. Steven

It does not work that way. There is no compulsion of god to give you a bike unless you deserve it not because you asked for it. god has to protect the bike owner also. So God cannot forgive you. Instead according to his rule you become a debtor to the cycle owner and pay him back the value of the cycle and also suffer a little for the suffering you caused to the owner. This fact will remain in time scale till you repay.

That's an old joke, come up with something more original next time! To answer your question, God doesn't give you stuff just to prove that he is God. He is all knowing and knew that you would steal it to begin with and that you would break that comandment if you are a christian of course. You can't just go out and sin and think that it's okay because God will forgive you anyway! He's not as dumb as you think he is.

God always gives what we need not always what we want, and stealing is wrong, now you have a bike, does that make you proud that the person you stole from don't have one now.

But did you believe with all your heart that you were going to get that bike. You see God see whats on people hearts and he knows who believes in him and who doesn't
He knows who love him and who doesn't
So if you don't love God with all your heart and soul you can ask forgiveness but not receive. so no that's not how it works.
But if you come to Jesus with a broken heart
and really mean what you are saying then he will forgive you

Remember Jesus loves you

God doesnt give things, god sets examples for people and shows them how to live. I dont think god gives everybody what they want, i dont think god gives anybody what they want, they end up having to work for it, so i dont think you should steal what you didnt get. If its important enough to you to want a bike, then you should work for it instead of expecting people to give you everything you want. If thats how you think life is, then in the future, if you dont work for what you want, you wont get anything. If you steal it, its not worth anything, because you just cheated somebody out of a lot of work that they did to earn that. Somebody cared enough to work for that bike, and you cheated them out of that work, so that means you dont care. You should work for what you want, then people will respect you, and people will be happy that they got what they worked for.
