The fact that we're now not hiding in the closet anymore is awesome... us becoming more confident shows how we are advancing as a society and scared, close minded people are slowing down this process.

I'm not. Unless you're talking about the openness of sexual contact. That I would be disturbed about irregardless of what gender the other party was.

With regard to your question - as time goes on, more and more people can finally step out of the shadows and not live secret lives.

Martina Navratilova had a great quote a few years back. She had remarked at the fact that whenever something was written on her it would always start out with "Martina Navratilova, the lesbian tennis player", but when something was written about Chris Evert, for example, it's never said "Chris Evert, the heterosexual tennis player". That type of thing has changed and people don't get labeled as much. That's a good thing.

They can be themselves.
They can be accepted as people, just like you and I.
They won't be labeled and have a figurative "G" or "L" (or "B", for that matter) stuck on them.
They can enjoy the same bill of rights that hetersexuals enjoy.
They can finally be members of society.

You obviously have too much time on your hands to be concerned about a issue like homosexuality. Get a life! Allow me to answer again your question with a question. When did you come out of the closet and announced to the whole world you were str8 ? It must have been very difficult no? r u bothered by your str8ness? Do yu feel victimized at times by being str8. Does your mother know your str8? Get some counseling kid!

Not a bit. I am, however, genuinely disturbed with the increased openness of sexuality: girls dressing like prostitutes, promiscuity (versus polyamory, which is different), the spread of ignorant myths, and an overall obsession with sex while the same time we continue to preach Puritan, sex-negative modes of morality and profess to belive them. It's just dangerous. Where is sex positive morality? Really, homosexuality is just not that big a deal in my mind.

I'm disturbed that Americans can love the world and yet hate 90% of the people within its borders. Not that 90% are gay, but that so so many people don't fit the "norm". The truth is, there's no such thing as normal, and we shouldn't all be forced into the same mold.

What's really disturbing are all the claims that somehow homosexual openness is in anyway erroding "traditional" or "Family values."

Where do these people get off telling US we're damaging these supposed values?
Just look at the state of THEIR Marriages, THEIR families, THEIR society!
It's in shambles and trust me, we had nothing to do with that.

They made their sloppy beds and now they're all upset because ours look neater.

Not a bit. We pay taxes and make genuine contributions to society, like anybody else. As for the stuff about seeing gay affection, do you think we necessarily want to watch straight people kissing and making out on TV? Live and let live.

not at all. what bothers is me is how many people are conveniently religious now in response to homosexuality... somehow they feel the need to bible preach about so called sin etc. as if they are biblical experts one question while they are so busy preaching to the homosexual community about what they think is a sin.. where were they when the thieves were stealing? muderers were killing or when the adulterers were f****ing?

I'm happy with it. The actual gays in public attention inspire me and the stereotypical ones amuse me to no end.
