My husband and I are each others first partners, so there couldn't possibly be an STD, and we always make sure I am good and lubed up before he penetrates. But lately, like the past 3 or so months I have been having pain when he penetrates, and also sometimes when he gets faster and the tip of his penis rubs close to the opening of my vagina it hurts extremely bad, and hurts for a while after sex too. Sometimes to the point where I am crying. My doctor says maybe its a yeast infection, so I try medicine and it only seems to make me more raw. So then he says, maybe you need to switch detergents, but that isnt the problem either. Please help me find out what this could be, we are getting very frustrated.

go to a different gynecologist. the doctor you have now isn't taking your problem seriously, and that is deplorable. change doctors. ask female co-workers and friends which gynecologists they go to, and make an appointment soon. no one needs to suffer during lovemaking.

Vaginismus. This is a common condition in which there is a spasm in the vaginal muscles, mainly caused by the fear of being hurt.
Vaginal infections. These conditions are common and include yeast infections.
Problems with the cervix (opening to the uterus). In this case, the penis can reach the cervix at maximum penetration, so problems with the cervix (such as infections) can cause pain during deep penetration.
Problems with the uterus. These problems may include fibroids that can cause deep intercourse pain.
Endometriosis. A condition in which the endometrium (tissue lining the uterus) grows outside the uterus.
Problems with the ovaries. Such problems might include cysts on the ovaries.
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. The tissues deep inside become badly inflamed and the pressure of intercourse causes deep pain.
Ectopic pregnancy. A pregnancy in which a fertilized egg develops outside of the uterus.
Menopause. The vaginal lining can lose its normal moisture and become dry.
Intercourse too soon after surgery or childbirth
Sexually transmitted infections. These may include genital warts, herpes sores or other STDs.
Injury to the vulva or vagina. These injuries may include a tear from childbirth or from a cut (episiotomy) in the perenium (area of skin between the vagina and the anus) that is made during labor.

I have actually had pain during intercourse. When it happened to me I had a urinary tract infection. It also happened after childbirth too. If you use condoms you may be allergic to an ingredient in them. My suggestion is to look up different illness on WebMD in which pain during penetration is common and try their natural cures. For any pain you have you can use a warm washcloth to help alleviate the pain or a squirt bottle full of warm water. It really helps.

I had this issue about 2 months ago. It was a yeast infection but I had to get a precription to get it to go away. Ask your doctor for a precription for the yeast infection and tell him that the over the counter stuff did not work.

i have a similar problem my doctor told me to only use cotton crotch underwear and no thongs. cotton lets your vagina breathe. other materials dry it out and then it gets irritated which makes it sore to touch. I have also found that double rinsing your underwear so you are sure that all the detergents are rinsed out, soap will dry out your vagina also causing irritation. Make sure your vaginal area is rinsed of all soap after washing and never use scented pantyliner or tampons
Hopefully this helps

maybe you have vaginismus....its a condition where during or before penetration, the muscles of the vagona clentch up....its kinda like the reflex where if someones trying to poke you in the eye and you close it......maybe your vaginal muscles clencth up because they expect that penetration is going to painful

if you think you have it you can read more about it here
