Because John Kerry never intended to say he was sorry . Today , his written statement was merely for damage control. He still didn't say that he was wrong to call our military stupid & uneducated . Yesterday he called a press conference to state that he'd never apologize . Today his written phony baloney backs that up . It's not an apology . He needs to go to Iraq and really apologize ; then come back and resign from the senate .

<<< I don't want to go back to a church where someone judges me >>> That is what are doing the religions. They constantly talking against the people doing or thinking about something bad. If you carefully listen, you will be frequently judged. If it up to you to believe in your religion (I don't need one) but be aware that love and tolerance isn't the reality even if taught inside the religions. Again! They always reject the sinners. For some, you might be a sinner if you buy a Big Mac because some Americans will be richer that way.

The only reason he DID apologize was because his own party was coming down on him. How sincere can an apology be when a person is forced to give it? He said what he meant and he meant what he said. His hate for the military has been evident since his return from Nam.

Or maybe about 3 hours later, when he and his staff had a chance to review, he could've APOLOGIZED. They chose a 'different course'. And after the entire country was outraged, he could've chose to apologize, but they chose a 'different course'. After the man-child realized that he just may have committed political suicide, he could've apologized, but he chose to 'mince words'. Soooo very deep into his lie, he chose to lie a little more, just like a 9 year old, testing the waters of honesty and deceit.

Simple - he didn't expect that the backlash would be great enough to possibly effect his party's agendas - he was wrong.
Kerry is an intelligent man - he meant what he said - he's been clear in his opposition to the US military for years. He underestimated the pride and support most of us 'dummies' have for the troops serving in Iraq.

GW Bush said ... "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we"
gee... did GW ever apologize for saying his admin is ceaselessly thinking up new ways to harm our country? should he have? or maybe he meant it the way he said it. right?
how funny that the NeoCONNED gleefully jump on Kerry's botched joke, self righteously demanding an apology while their inarticulate AWOL CowBoy of God can barely string a coherent sentence together (even with the aid of a teleprompter or a little Rove bug in his ear). nevermind the fact that when GW does manage to form a sentence it's a Rovian obfuscation

Kerry was just being Kerry, he is still trying to figure out if he said it or not and if he wants to admit it. Next week he will be saying that he has no recollection of the incident.

He was making a speech to a school where he was mocking the President. The students probably knew what he meant. After I listened and read what he said.I knew what he meant too. He probably didnt think it would be pounced upon by the "liberal media" Although he should have after that swift boat nonsense, so one really has to wonder if the man is actually working for the GOP

I have had ppl apologize to me days after what they have done. It doesn't matter how long it takes. What does matter is that he realized what he said was wrong, or came out wrong, and apologized.
He had enough balls to do so.
And why doesn't president bush apologize for being a dumbass. He doesn't even write his own speeches, and what he reads he doesn't even understand....... please!
