Because its funny when someone else is miserable. Laugh at the pain. They probally deserve it, honestly now they probally do.

Human nature. Why do we laugh when we watch stuff like America's Funniest Videos where the people fall down and the like?
Then again, perhaps answering one question with another isn't the greatest thing to do..

maybe it was the way she described her predicament....
sometimes, we do tend to get jealous abt wht others have and we ourselves dont. but these things shud not come in between the friendship that we have with others. life is not all abt having the most expensive things. it also abt the values that u have as a person.
but ur question here does indicate that u feel sorry for having laughed.

You really owe your friend an apology. Sometimes people laugh at inappropriate times because they don't know what else to do, but that doesn't change that you probably hurt your friend's feelings.
