Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson are argueably the 2 funniest people, their TV series were outstanding, as were their live stage shows. If only there were more shows like that still on.
My favourite episodes from bottom are:
Terror - The pair plan a halloween party
Hole - Richie and Eddie are trapped at the top of the ferris wheel.
Holy - Richie and Eddie experience a Christmas day miracle
Bottom's Out - The duo go camping on Wimbledon Common
Culture - Richie and Eddie entertain themselves without TV
Accident - Richie's birthday party is not a success
Apocalypse - Richie receives bad news from a Gypsy fortune teller
Smells - Richie and Eddie take advantage of a revolutionary new sex-spray
Gas - Richie and Eddie must remedy an illegal gas connection without disturbing their violent neighbour.

My Son likes Rik Mayell+ Aid Edmonson in Bottom. The only1 i can remember(i think) is the Nativity Spoof Xmas 1. (Or was that when they were The Dangerous Brothers?) I cant quite remember.
I always think of 'The Young Ones'+ 'Filthy Rich+ Catflap'. (More my era)
All very funny. !

Of course - absolutely hilarious. I've got a 3-episode video with the one about the identity parade when Eddie pawned a bloke's wooden leg while he was asleep at the bar, the one when Richie and Eddie camped out on Wimbledon Common tempting the wombles with hobnobs and my favourite EVER episode - Christmas when Richie and Eddie had Dave Hedgehog and Spudgun round and made them eat sprouts, played a crap game of charades and then Richie thought he was the chosen one when he found a baby on the doorstep - the others posed as the three wise men with Terry's All Gold chocolates (as gold), a Frankenstein mask (for frankincense) and Grrrr aftershave (for Myrrh). Just brilliant!

Kickass show with no particular point but to give us a kind of glance at what happens when young maniacs get middle aged. I laugh myself sick at most of them, but woudl have to say Culture, 's Out and Hole top the list - Culture is the one where the guys' TV gets repossessed. Ade is busy smashing Rik's face in repeatedly with the fridge door, and turns to the audience to say "You know it's ironic. People say there's too much violence on TV. I'm smashing his face in....and we haven't even got one." The levels of surreal logic in that are just frightening and superb.
's Out has been mentioned by a few people here as the "Womble Hunt". Impalations, Hobnobbery, Setting Traps for Madame Cholet and a kind of Lord of the Flies for Morons - what's not to love?
And Hole - where they get stuck on a disused ferris wheel all night, and actually confront some of the issues at the core of their sad, lonely, smelly gittery. And of course, get staggeringly electrocuted, meet a God they don't believe in and plunge to what should surely be their doom, but isn't. Again, classic lines include the admirable clear thinking in "Y'know...I don't actually want to piss Fate off right at this moment..."
Classic, essentially limited but wonderfully skillful stuff. Interesting that the format worked very well when transferred to a longer stage show, but bombed like one of Eddie's farts when turned into a movie as Guest House Paradiso...Go figure...

I liked Gas where they were ripping off their next-door neighbour, Mr Rottweiler's, gas supply (played by the late great Brian Glover). The gasman came round and Richie and Eddie felt there was no choice but to murder him. Their stage show, '2001, An A*se Oddysey' had the situation where Richie was pointing out that the pig took a long time to milk because it only had one teat, and Eddie stating 'Yeah, and a huge pair of bollocks!'

Loved Bottom!! Favourite episodes gotta be when they nicked that mans wooden leg, took it to the pawn shop and put the money on "Sad Ken"!!
(that man by the way was played by Robert Llewellyn who played Kryton in Red Dwarf!! Bit of useless trivia for ya!!) (think i spelt Kryton wrong as well!)

Fab programme that had me crying with laughter. I think my 2 fave episodes were when the tv blew up and they had to amuse themselves in other ways...doing the crossword puzzle was hilarious. The second was when Rik got himself a girlfriend...Magic!
