I'm on a site now that allows me to download large (300+MB) files. Some of them are in .wmv files and when i go to play them, windows media player must first go search for a license. This is fine and once the license is found the file plays. My question is ... If i then go to burn these .wmv files to a cd will I also have to burn on the cd this 'license' somehow or will they just play normally on any computer from the burned cd? I wouldn't even know where to look for this license on my pc even tho win media player says it obtained it

the license will be on my computer so it will pick it up when i go to play the movie off the cd. I'm wondering if the cd is played on a computer other than mine or after i reformat my hard drive will it still play.

All you have to do is go into windows media player, click on Tools, then Options, then click Copy CD, or Copy Music, then remove the checkmark from Copy Protect Music, and click on OK and you will be all set.

I'm pretty sure when you try to play them off the CD or on the next computer you put them on it will just ask to check the license again. You might be able to try the instructions on this MS KB article.

no, there is no point of burning a "license" onto your cd.

most likely, your cd should play fine if you just burn the songs 2 a disk.

test it out, cd-r's are cheap
