trust is the basis of any relationship! if that trust is broken, it can be rebuilt, but at what cost? is the price worth it? that's my question for you?

my guess is that you broke that trust?

If one person felt that their trust was betrayed and the other felt it wasn't it could be an issue of miscommunication as to the extent of the relationship. If not, once trust is lost it is something that you can never completely get back. You can try to rebuild trust, but it will never be the same because the the person who was wronged will always have the thought that they are being lied to in the back of their head.

Difficult question. It depends on circumstances and right now, on the time of day. LOL. Plus, there are many different definitions of what a relationship is or entails. (sic) It depends on how you feel about fidelity or trust. Personally, I think it is possible to forgive people. But then, on the other hand, a person has to think of protecting themselves from too much damage. Pfft.. perhaps I shouldn't be answering questions like this atm. I am contradicting myself too much.

I would, and have on a trust issue---fidelity would be a bit harder, I think. It depends on the couple. My aunt + uncle stayed together after he cheated--and are the stronger for it. True love can survive many trials.

I'd sure as hell try...this man has been my whole life for 20 years...I would like to think that if there were a fidelity issue that we could discuss it first as adults....before any infidelity took place

I would, but that is just the kind of person I am. When I commit to someone I commit 100% because I love that person and want to be with them. Of course it's going to hurt, but having open dialogue with them may lead you to discover why it happened in the first place. I am a forgiving person. This has never happened to me, and hopefully will not, but that is how I would deal with it. And in the end your relationship with them would be even stronger.

yes, you could rebuild it but why. did they rip your heart right out of your chest and leave you standing there with a gaping hole that manifested into a fungus that smelled so foul that it made you vomit. then wither in constant confusion of will he do it again, why did he do it in the first place. no i wouldn't want to.

It really depends on how strongly I felt for the person and how remorsful they'd be.

The biggest factors I think for me would be;

1) How I found out... if I was told by my partner or by someone else.

2) How long the infedelity was for... one night or one year is a big difference...

somtimes love seems to be worth it
but it you look at it
if you can not trust your partner
then maybe the love is not worth it
