Currently, the best thing about politics is we are seeing a lot of true colors across the board. Politicians that are solid are starting to rise above.

The biggest problem is that party politics and doing whatever it takes to remain in office have become more important than doing the job. That goes for the Dems, the Reps, the Administration - all of them. Some Senators attempt to perform their job with moral clarity, but the hunger for political power runs deep. Serving in the US Congress was never supposed to be a full time job or have benefits so fantastic that people in Congress would do anything to keep their job.
