Dems obviously want more seats to actually control the Senate! Controlling the Senate has many benefits, and could force both parties to work together.

On Nov. 7th, I think the Dems will win the house, and may fall 1-2 seats short on the Senate!

Dems want to make sure they have the votes necessary in the Senate to destroy any conservative judicial appointment that the president wants to make on the Supreme Court. Also if they have both houses they can manipulate the entire political scene in Washington making GWB insignificant.
