Or just say he was sorry for making people mad at him and for ruining his career?

The fact is, that Democrats on this site don't even know that their own party leaders are outraged as well. For political survival or decent human respect, whatever their reasons, the Democratic Party is just as pissed as we(Republicans) are. And yet, the fools argue on.

He said he was sorry if people "misinterpreted" his "joke".

Most people know he wasn't trying to make a joke. And nobody "misinterpreted" his filmed and documented statement. A real man would have said something like this: "I made a terrible mistake. I said something very wrong and I'm sorry".

But John Kerry has a long history of saying degrading (and untrue) things about our men and women in uniform. It's no wonder he doesn't think he did anything wrong. He's said far worse things about American soldiers, including under oath before Congress.

IMHO he's several apologies short of a clean slate.

The fact is there are several Republican saying they know what Kerry was trying to say was a joke about Bush being dumb. Here is a link to the transcripts from the Chris Mathews show.

Read the Dick Armey quotes. No friend of the Democrats. Very revealing.

The best quote I read about the whole thing was in another article. "Is the White House too stupid to know he was making a joke about them being stupid"

Who really cares what John Kerry says anyway. Does that have anything to do with anyone you're voting for? The Republicans want to get everyone fired up over this to take away from the issues. It's pretty sleazy politics and both sides do it.

I Don't consider anything he said an apology.

Kerry has everything to do with this election, folks, because for TWO YEARS it's been bash Bush... And how the republicans (the few who credited the term without perverting it) STOLE the election. Kerry has everything to do with it, because

KERRY WAS THE DEMS CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT.

Yes, he apologized for trying to make his statement a joke, but as far as apologizing to the troops, no.

I think he did the equivalent of apologizing that people got angry so it wasnt a real apology.
