I have written four crime fiction stories. I would like to find someone to check them for grammatical accuracy, but I am not sure how to go about finding that. I want to get these published, but I need a little help. They were written while I was in high school, but I am hoping to improve them.

First of all, you do not to copyright your material. Copyright laws cover writer's manuscripts by default. If and when your stories are published, that is the time you might want to apply for an active copyright. You may, however, be covered under the publisher's copyright, depending on the type of publication.

As for copy editing, there are many services out there that will edit your manuscript for a fee. Try WritersDigest.com for a list of such providers. Another option is to ask your local college or writers group if anyone provides such services
