I was married at 28, engaged 8 months before. Engaged after knowing him for three years, and dating for two of those.
Best advice is to finish school, live on your own separately so you know what real life is like - to earn a salary and pay your bills. If your love will wait, then get engaged.

I was engaged at 19 and married at 19. My regrets is that I didn't do the things I wanted to do before I settled down. A word of advice, try to wait until you have graduated from college. This will give you time to focus on each other and your future. Luck to you both!

Yes..wait until you have an education and a stable job! You'll stand a better chance of success.
The first engagement was at 21. That marriage ended 3 years later.
The second was at 27...10 years later and I'm still married!

Well, if we had waited until my husband got a job we never would have married!
We were driving down the turnpike on May1, 1999 and I was playing with a little box I found on the console. Out of boredom/curiosity I opened it. There was a sweet engagement ring inside!! I must have looked really funny because my fiance asked "what do you think?" I said "It's pretty. Who's it for?" Then he pulled the car over, got out, walked around to my side of the car, opened the door and got down one one knee (his bad knee) in the gravel and asked me to marry him. I looked at him and said in a tiny, squeaky voice "yes". The next 4 years were the very best of our lives. Sadly, he died just before our 4th anniversary. I'm so glad we didn't wait until he found a job to get married. Think of all the time we would have lost. He went into business for himself and that solved the job problem!

i got engaged on my 18th birthday, which was wayyyy too young!
im now 22, i think if i was to get married i would wait until after im done with school and settled with a job, so that way you can have a stable life and wont have to worry about finances with the wedding and such....but getting engaged now is fine, the wedding would probably be better after school is completed

I was 27. I'd say wait until you graduate and get a job before you get engaged. That way you all can plan the wedding (if you plan to have one) without worrying about exams or school period.

Engaged and married at 21. Even when you get married you two can help each other graduate and get a job...everything is so much sweeter when married...
