Yep, mostly out of fear that it will get messed up or that I won't be able to enjoy it as much as it's worth.

I have done this so many times it's not funny. Bought expensive outfits or expensive perfume or expensive make-up thinking I can't possibly use it for everyday, so I save it for a "special" occasion...........and that special enough occasion just never comes.
I've gotten wiser now when buying........if I don't promise myself that I'll use whatever product or clothes within the next 4 or 5 days, then I won't buy it.
I remember having a yard sale one time where I actually sold some clothes that still had tags on it. What a waste.
I hope I'm a little wiser now. I'm definitely a little poorer now....lol

Yup, ended up buying a Yankees dugout jacket in 2001. They're limited to only 25 made and sold through their shops, exact replicas of the ones the team where in the dugout.
It cost so much, that in the 5 years I've owned it, it hasn't been worn once in fear that I'll ruin it!

YEP, USED TO LIVE AND WORK IN HOLLAND SOME 20 YEARS BACK,bought a full size snooker table,(20k back than) had it installed upstairs over the shop(it was a medieval building with very strong floors) installers finished on the friday late, i had left early for a meeting in another city , came back the next day and the place was burnt down (faulty fuse box) .

YES! the one major thing would have to be my electric guitar - i bought it for £80 and with me and my mum being skint, it didnt help when i gave up on learning how to play, thankfull i sold it for around £60. so not much of a loss, but still dissapointing.

Yeah!!I do that too, buy stuff expensive and seldom use it..I do it in jewelry and clothes..most women I think do it..most of my friends are like that..buy stuff and put it someplace else around the house and later on she can't even find it where she put it.

Yeah...i have a couple of Louis Vuitton bags that I just HAD to have and now they are out of season and I never use them..what a waste....I could have bought so many pairs of shoes with that money...grr..I don't want to think about it...lol

i went through a stage of absolutely loving borjour mono eye shadows (£5.95) each. Bought about 10-12, do use very ocasionally, but no where near often enough to warrant that amount spent on them............

i wonder if i have some kinda illness...everytime i chance upon something nice, i feel happy spending the $$ but after dat i juz chuck it at home after i use it 1 or 2 times;p
