Has anyone ever known Maddie Gayle before she died?

Maddie Gayle....well I dont know much about her but I know she died. My teacher Mrs.Pierce said a little girl named Maddie Gayle was beside her bed and said stepping stones! I need to find out what the crap stepping stones means so if anyone has information about her please tell!!!!!!!
