I want to be in my brother's band. They have an awesome drummer, I mean he's amazing, they have a bass player, two guitarist, and a singer. The thing is his singer is the only one who can sing. I can sing very well, and I can sing the style of music they play: Greenday, My Chemical Romance, Korn, ect, yes I am a girl. But I'm afraid he'll say no you suck, and also say no because I'm his sister. I don't know what to do, singing is my thing, and it kills me because he won't let me do something I love and am good at, it's like smashing his guitars. and Kyle's drums, and Jared's bass, and Andy's guitar! I have sung for him, and he knows I'm good, just part of him wants to be difficult, what do I do?! I sound like a girl Billie Joe Armstrong, I don't know why, but I started singing Good Riddance, and I got goosebumps and was like omigod...I sound like Armstrong....

START YOUR OWN> or maybe hint that your looking for guys for your new group. tell the guys in your brothers band you would like them to be your backup, but its hard because of your brothers attitude. maybe they will want to join your bank. keep asking the guys (not your brother) for their help and input to help you get your super group going.

Thanks for clearing up that your twin brother is the same age as you. It's a difficult concept to grasp. Don't take my sarcasm too seriously haha. I couldn't resist. He sounds really immature, and like he has no values or self control whatsoever. Your mom doesn't really seem to be helping either. If he has no consequences, there's nothing stopping him from continuing. The only thing I can think of is to sink to his level. No, it's not the most mature move, but ignoring him doesn't seem to do much, not does it seem possible. Just do everything he does to you back at him. If he gets annoyed, tell him that he doesn't have any more privileges than you. Eat his food (or at least throw it our or something), take his money (or your money back), use his stuff. He probably won't like it. Or you could always get locks for your doors, and a big box with a lock for your stuff. He should grow out of this eventually. Well for me, my brother is sixteen(two years older than me), and he's actually great haha. He doesn't live with me unfortunately. But he's rarely annoying, respects everyone else, and isquite mature. He's good company, I kinda wished he lived with me again. I have two sisters who are eleven and nine years older than me though. The one who's eleven years older is fine, but the other one. She's quite something. She does respect my privacy and is hygenic, but she's equally as bad as your brother in different areas.

Get the other band players to agree on letting you in before you ask your brother. Ask them if you could practice with them a couple times to try out your abilities. If your brother doesn't let you in, I'm sure a lot of other people will. I wouldn't mind a Billy Joe Armstrong in my band.

That's sibling rivalry for you. I've been a drummer for a lot of years, I've been around music long enough to know good singers are hard to find. You say that you're good, so finding a band should'nt be hard. Stay focused, and don't let anyone deter you.
