Amazo vs Silver Surfer?

Another VERY interesting question.

My first inclination is to say that Amazo, being a mere android built of earthly components, cannot absorb the cosmic power away from Norrin Radd. He'd simply melt, or vaporize. And Norrin would be glad to help.

On second thought, though, I recall a 1970's issue of JLA where the League fought someone named Libra, who could establish a balance. He took half of each member's powers.

The JLA did not defeat Libra-- he made the critical mistake of trying to absorb half the Milky Way Galaxy instead (hubris.) Bear with me a moment and you'll see where this goes.

Libra was unable to destroy the League (though he had the power to do it) because he kept on coming up with better and better ways to do it, SO FAST he could not begin to implement one before he thought of an even better way!!!! And then Libra dissipated, unable to contain half the galaxy (the fool!)

In the following issue, the JLA was faced with the problem of trying to recover their lost powers. The solution...? Amazo! He could absorb their powers, and they installed a special shutoff switch in him, so that once he had absorbed all the lost power, he would autmatically deactivate. Of course, they would be getting weaker as he was getting stronger, and he knew about the shutoff, and tried to deactivate that first, but-- you get the idea.

Okay, now, having established the background-- yes, I think that

1) Amazo has the ability to drain any kind of power, even cosmic power, even from the Silver Surfer.

2) Amazo CAN contain that much power (he was able to contain the power of Superman, Martian Manhunter and Wonderwoman all at the same time.)

3) Amazo can absorb the power FROM A DISTANCE, without having to touch his target. That's more powerful than Rogue, Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man (though I've always thought that he and Rogue would make a cute couple) and the Parasite.

Maybe the Surfer would win in the end. He might be able to whip up some kind of neutronium shield through which Amazo could not drain him, and then physically smoosh him into android pate. But Amazo would give him a run for his money.

I have to go with Noran Radd.

The Silver Surfer wields the Power Cosmic. With it he can transmute material, fire blasts of incredible power, survive the rigors of space, travel at light speed among other things. With the Power Cosmic Surfer would possibly be able to incinerate Amazo. Plus Amazo can copy the powers of metahumans... and I am not sure the Surfer qualifies as a metahuman since metahuman (DC) is more or less synonyms with mutant and mutate (marvel).
