I'd have to go with Sinestro, not because I like the pointy-eared Korugaran, but simply because he is skilled at inducing doubt into his opponents, wearing them down and discouraging them. For one whose super powers depend on self-confidence (Gladiator) rather than will power [the difference is subtle, but real] this will be a critical weakness. Sinestro would then be able to use his yellow ring to do as he pleased with the Imperial Guardsman..
As Henny Youngman would have said, "A lion ate my mother-in-law, and I'm gladiator!" ...sorry.

Gladiator is a juiced up version of Superman with a fatal flaw. He has to be fully confident in his ability to acomplishment the task at hand. Since Sinestro's Quardian Power Ring is as versitile as a Green Lanterns he would be able to weather the Shi'ar Guardsman's faith in himself.... And Sinestro would win.
