is is better to have a girl or boy as your first child. what are the ups and downs? i need all the opinions i can get.

I got a girl, and I love it. She's pretty even tempered now and smiles. Babys for the first year at least are pretty much the same boy or girl, just enjoy every day. :)

i would have to say girl because if you were to have a boy first and then a girl second he would two up the girl if you know what i mean not anything sexual just a turn a phrase but then on the other hand if you had a boy first and a girl second she would have a brother to look out for her
the moral of this is there are ups and downs to this situation

It's a matter of opinion really... I have two boys so I think a boy first is great!

I have three boys and my oldest was a easy baby and now at age 11 he still is a very good kid. All my friends had girls first and they always are saying I wish I had a boy first.lol I have a older brother and he was a first, it was always nice because he was always there to stick up for me.

i don't think it really matters. there isn't a best. i've had 2 boys and absolutely adore them but i don't know what it's like to have a girl either. just remember as they age - boys are mama's boys and girl's are daddy's little girl. come to think of it, i'd say boys rock!

i have no children of my own, but i have watched and been around many, many children. I find that if you have a boy first, they tend to protect the girl, and they seem to be closer. and with a girl first, the boy seems to be more annoying towards her. but you never know.

either one is fine! have a child and let ur husband decide (after all he is the one who carries out chromosome for having a boy or a girl) just relax

Why would it matter, you are never guaranteed, if you have a boy first your next one will be a girl and visa versa...pray that it is healthy that is all that matters!!!

They are both a blessing, but I prefer having a boy.
