Point taken...There is ONLY one member of Congress that has a child and Iraq..but I can't remember his name. Any leader should use that as a yard stick...Is the cause worth my own child's life?
From what I have seen EVERYTHING about Iraq from beginning to end as been a huge and costly mistake.

Why don't you list recent Presidents. And who forced you to join the military??? It is a volunteer military and yes, we still have freedom of choice. And as far as this being a just war, why don't you take a look around the world and actually see what's going on. Even countries not involved with this war are being terrorized. You need to pull you head out.. And yes, I did my time and then some. Wake up already..

Yeah, nice pipe dream there. The day politicians put their money (or their progeny) where their mouth is F.D.R will roll over in his grave and I will gain a glimmer of hope for my once great country. I also served but then I guess I'm not bright enough for an ivy league school according to that flip-floppin' Kerry moron.

"Both of Saddam's sons served in the military" is an excellent analogy.
His sons "served" in the palace - and whenever one of them spotted a female that interested him, he would arrange to have her kidnapped and brought back to the palace. When he was through with her, he would simply have her killed.
I guess you could call this "serving in the military" - at least by Saddam's standards, anyway.

because silver spoon babys dont usually join the military. duh!
people can disagree all they want, but a poor underachieving high school grad that has absolutely no direction in life will join the military long before wealthy kids with a family paid tuition to the state of their choices best college.

I agree with you. I think personally if you voted for Bush and believe that what he is doing is right, then why not sign up for the armed forces.
I know if I believed in the president and thought everything he was doing was for the greater good of the world, then I would sign up.

Not many sons and daughters of Congress either--perhaps there should be a draft for all adult children of those who voted for the war. I am also a veteran.

Because this isn't a communist nation yet, and as a free nation the Bush kids can do what they please. Apparently the ,military does not interest them.
