How do you get pass the beginner stage on Gran turismo 4?

How do you get pass the beginner and professional class races to go to the next set of races? I ran all the races in those two classes and it still wont let me go on to the next set. How do u get to the extreme races? Its in the event halls there is beginner then professional,extreme,mission,rally,endurance,time trial and power and speed. Whats the trick to make it move on? If ne one can please help me Id be thankful :-)

you have to pass all the licence tests but you dont really need silver and gold bronze will do but if you really want to finish the game get all the coloured licences its a good game but i thught gt1 & 2 where better also if you want another good game try strangers wrath on xbox its awesome a real challenge

you need to get the licences first

then you have to get all the golds
