No I knew someone with one and it was horrible. You had to stand exactly in front of it or you were not being sent as part of the picture. He bought it to talk to his baby daughter while he traveled but she never go the idea that you needed to stand still so he never saw her very well. He eventually returned it to the store and gave up on the video phone idea.
He paid about a thousand dollars for the pair and returned them within two months.

who dont have 1 they are brilliant had mine a while and it was £179 worth every penny
