Wal Mart expects you to be on time, or call in when sick

Am I missing something? The last 2 jobs I have had share the same policy...

I think it's just that Wal-Mart is under so much scrutiny right now that just about anything they do makes the news. The hype will die down after awhile.

The only thing I don't like is the trouble you have to go through to call in sick or tardy...dial a 1-800 number? Where does this number go to? Certainly not the store...

The other provisions don't sound too harsh, usually most companies have something similar, but are understanding if it affects a large percentage of the workforce.

I hate it when employers want you to be there an unpaid 15 - 20 minutes ahead of time every shift. Screw you! I'll be there 5 minutes ahead, coffee in hand, bladder empty ready to go. It's retail for crissake, not national defense.
