My grandson was born at 32 weeks. He had to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks but was at home earlier than he would have been if he had waited for his due date. He's now a healthy 4 year old.

okay no panicing just yet. I have had a child way earlier than that and he is 11 years old now. Your baby can have complications but just because your contracting doesnt mean u are in labor. I had contractions with my daughter from the moment i was six months pregnant and did not have her but 2 weeks before my due date. Dont do anything strenous stay off your feet drink lots of water and avoid hot showers try to take luke warm ones. i was haveing contractions that finally put me into labor after having them five minutes apart for 33 hours so its not always what it seems and every woman is different i felt agitated when i finally went into labor it was funny too. i told my fiance the day before im haveng the baby i need to go to the hospital now so we went they said my contractions werent makeing me dialate and gave me a shot of morpene in my butt sent me home i had an awful night but by morning the contracting stopped and i felt so agitated and said okay just for grins and giggles lets go to the hospital.so we parked in the parking lot which was a quarter of a mile away from the hospital i walked all the way to the emergency room entrance from the car got to the help window and said i think im gonna have my baby but im not sure they took me upstairs and i was telling my fiance and i quote "they are gonna tell me no give me another shot and make my butt hurt and send me home" well the nurse came in and said your dialated to four i had my daughter 6 hours later. Hopefully if that didnt help it at least made u laugh no worries take it easy and im not sure if your doctor told you this but they also have shots that sometimes can stop contractions and slow down your labor. good luck. best wishes to you and im sure your baby is going to be okay. there are ppl that have babies that are way earlier than 33 weeks and weigh 2 lbs and they make it so try not to worry.

I know a lot of twins are born at 32 weeks and they thrive. I had problems with my pregnancy, and my doctor really wanted to keep me on bed rest so I would make it to my 27th week, which I believe is a key date for survival of premature infants. With today's medical advances, your baby should be fine at 33 weeks. She/he might have to spend some more time in the hospital than a full term baby. But don't worry too much. Remember that your stress affects your baby. I wish you all the best during the rest of your pregnancy and delivery!

Babies have survived from 23 weeks on and 33 weeks is a lot closer, so your baby still has a chance. Try to get a lot of bed rest. Also if your doctor precribed medication (which he should have!!) to stop the contractions, take it.

Depends how well developed the baby is, a baby can die at full term, but with todays knowledge, more and more survive, born early. Good Luck and btw many many people have Braxton-Hicks contractions (which is just contractions....not the real thing)

I had my twins at 32 weeks and they came out small but healthy enough. I had a steriod shot to help their lungs develop more. Twins develop faster than single babies so i was lucky in that too. After only 10 days i brought home my 3lb. 10 oz. and 4 lb. 10 oz. baby girls. You baby may be placed in a NICU for a few days or more depending on how developed it is. Technology has come a long way. Your baby has very good chances so dont worry.

I just went to the baby and toddler show in toronto on saturday and I saw 2 babies there that were born 6 weeks early. they were each 2 months old and doing fine....
With todays technology your baby can survive even earlier than that. The hard part is leaving them at the hospital for a few weeks.
good luck, dont worry

False labor Braxton Hicks Contractions. You are already far enough along now there should be no problems for the baby being born early. Just a little smaller.

What Do Braxton Hicks Contractions Feel Like?
Braxton Hicks contractions can be described as tightening in the abdomen that comes and goes. These contractions do not get closer together, do not increase with walking, do not increase in how long they last and do not feel stronger over time as they do when you are in true labor.
