My aunt Joy also had this fear and her husband was also putting it off. Even though he volunteered to be the one to get the snip. She "closed up shop" so to speak. Its a difficult thing to do, but
necessary for the health of the marriage.
Maybe he doesn't know what is going to happen and is afraid of the pain. Here is what happens in the Doctor's office:
My husband got one. He said: The doctor numbed the testicles with a small needle. It stung, but not really painful. Then the nurse shaved the sides of his scrotum. Then the Doctor lifted a testicle and felt for the vas deferens. The Doc. made a small incision and clipped the vas deferens. This included a small bit of cauterization. (pressure but no pain through the entire procedure) Then the Doc. put in 2-3 stitches that would come out on their own. Repeat for the second testicle.
Husband had to sit on ice for a week, and walked gingerly for two weeks. A month later there is a lab sample to be tested to see if the procedure was successful. All in all it cost us about $1000.
I sat out in the waiting room, and it didn't take long at all. 20mins maybe.

Don't have sex and you won't get pregnant...
Why don't you just stop his penis from entering your vagina instead?

Easy, you promised, so no sex till you are fixed.
Or, remind him how much better sex will be after he gets fixed because of no stress over getting pregnant!! A good incentive ;) Don't forget to use protection for 6 weeks after the procedure

If you can't tell him to his face, sit down and write him a letter.Let him know again your fear of getting pregnant again.Tell him it's a simple procedure to turn a working model into a sports model. If he has it done on a Friday, he can relax all weekend, and be back to work Monday, no problem. Heck, show him the answers to your question.LOL. Everything works the same.....LOL.

I had one about 20 years ago. I've had worse experiences at the dentist.
Find a good doctor and do what he tells you. Piece of cake!
One less thing to worry about, for sure!

I had my Vasectomy in 2006 and have had absolutely no issues since. The procedure was relatively painless. I had only minimal bruising. It did not stop any of my activities, except for the first 24 hours. Recovery was a breeze, probably due to the fact that I am not a desk jockey. I'm physically active all day, every day. The best benefit has been the elimination of the stress of an unplanned pregnancy, and increased spontaneity. Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization and/or permanent birth control. During the procedure, the male vasa deferentia are severed and then tied/sealed in a manner so as to prevent sperm from entering into the seminal stream and thereby prevent fertilization from occurring.
