i own a repair shop, and you need to tell him what you just said ,and he will scan it,and find out what is wrong with it,all you have to do is explain to him what it does, and when it does it,and leave the rest to him on it,but that's enough information for him to be able to find the problem with it ,good luck,i hope this help,s.

sounds like you have a vaccum leak. On the newer models...with a vaccum leak..the computer tells the system that there is too much air...thus dumping more fuel in the system causing high idle.

To check for this...get some carburator cleaner and spray around your vaccum system...all the lines...around the intake...when it idles down...recheck this area...then look for a vaccum leak...I'm sure you will find the problem this way.

if you take it to a mechanic he will run a dio on it and tell you what the problem is.sounds to me like your idle modulator is out or going out.It might just need to be adjusted.Good Luck.

locate the idle set screw if it has one it should be near the end of the throttle cable at the intake manifold. you could turn the screw out to let the flap(butterfly valve)close ; or your throttle position sensor or idle air control valve could be bad.

Before you tinker around, check to see if you have warranty left on the vehicle.

Possiblilities could be: faulty maf sensor/air intake sensor, vaccuum leak, oxygen sensor
