Is the new Martian Manhunter Minni-Series true to the character?

As a big J'onn J'onzz fan, I was thrilled to see there was a new mini-series out. But I have to confess, I dont know if I like the portrayal of the character here. What are peoples thoughts on the series?

I read the chapter in that BRAVE NEW WORLDS comic that was a $1---and was nt impressed at all! And the first issue did nothing to change my mind! Not gonna go buying anymore of that stuff! The sense of wonder / discovery is totally gone-which to me was the fun part for old jonn!!
