Confront her about it. Maybe she was trying to spare someones feelings. You won't know the reason unless you ask her.

She may of had reasons not to tell the truth at that time...to save either one of you from embarrassment. Or maybe she was just being an airhead, not really listening, and answered incorrectly. Give her a second chance if you have known her that long. Why lose a friend over a possible miscommunication? If it bothers you that much and you are good friends, then maybe you should confront her and get it over with. Once it's out in the open then maybe you can get past it. I hope its an honest mistake...good friends are hard to find.

I would have a talk her in private with no one else around, and ask her why she lied. Maybe there is a misunderstanding, and not an intentional lie.
Maybe she thinks that you said something that was not true.
I would definitely discuss it with her and put your feelings out on the table, and you two may still be friends forever.
Good Luck
