I really want to become a published writer, and all of my teachers say that I certainly have the ability to. The problem is that I am only 14 and i really want to be taken seriously when it comes to this matter. How can I get somebody's attention that will look at my work and not overlook me as a child?

This is exactly how I feel. I'm 13 years old and I have the same problem. An agent is always nice, even though they are expensive. You might be able to write under a pseudonym, even though it would still be difficult. Look at Christopher Paolini. He wrote Eragon at 17 and is a bestselling author. Send a copy of your stories to several agencies. If you're good enough, your age wont matter.

Use a pen name and have older college students or professors critique your work for a true assessment of your ability.
