My VCR has bit the dust. I've been hearing that DVD players will eventually replace them. Are there now DVD recorders that do the same thing as a VCR?? Or can I still buy VCRs? Any advice?

The same manufacturers that made VCR now make DVD recorders for about $100.00. You use a rewritable DVD and you record right on that. It even indexes the different shows you record so you don't have to fast forward through the entire DVD to look what you are looking for.

DVD players pretty much have replaced them. You can buy a recordable dvd player but they are still pretty costly.

If you haven't switched from VCRs to DVD players yet I would suggest buying a dvd and a player before buying a new vcr. They difference is worth the extra money and it will be hard to keep buying tapes. Soon they will stop making it and your old tapes wear out.

you can still buy vcrs but you might as well go with a dvd recorder or a digital recorder to record programs
