So integers are just numbers and if it's negative then it's in the oposite direction. So if you have a number and subtract a negataive number, you are subtracting in the oposite direction and thus adding.
So
-45 - - 34 is just -45 + 34 and that equals 11.
There are a lot of other things that equal 11 and thus equal -45 - - 34. However,
35 - - 44 = 35 + 44 = 79 which does not equal 11.

im gonna guess you're confused about subtracting negative intergers. When youre subtracting negative intergers, it becomes an addition problem. For example, (-45) - (-34) would be the same as (-45) + 34. And 35 - (-44) would be the same as 35 + 44

well subtracting a negative is like adding a positive and so it'll be -45+34= -11, and 35+44=79

-45 - -34= 35 - -44= (i'm not sure that you wrote this correctly..emm)
remember to -- equals a +
so; to rewrite the equation we get -45+35=35-45=-10
since the larger is the negative one, our answer will also be a negative.

-45--34
-- (minus a negative) means the same thing as add (because the two negatives cancel to give you a positive).
so -45--34 = -45 + 34 = -11
integers are just whole numbers (not including 0).

-45 - - 34 + 3.5 - - 44 = ( - - = +) two negatives equates to a positive so
- 45 + 34 + 3.5 + 44= 36.5

Hi! I'm not very good with intergers either but I have found that www.math.com has been very very VERY helpful for me in many ways. Maybe it will help you also. Good luck!
