I'm a Smoker,but I respect those who don't smoke.

I don't smoke in Restaurants (period).
I don't smoke in my Childrens's homes.
I don't smoke in my home,if my "Grands" are there.
I don't smoke in my car,if my family is in it with me.
I don't smoke in the "Breakroom" at work. I go outside.

Although Smoking is something we do,because we want to,we should still respect those who don't smoke.

Recently they just passed a similiar law where I live. Personally, I don't know why the government is even involve with these issues. If an establishment allows smokers then exercise your right to go somewhere else. If an establishment wants you there they would not allow smokers. It's that simple. Since when are people that smoke outcast to society? What no one else in the world has bad habits..excuse me addictions.... I love it when people complain about smokers, but get drunk daily or use ILLEGAL drugs. What makes you any better?? Yes, everyone knows smoking will harm you. If it's that bad the outlaw it don't restrict it to the point of outlaw. Why won't it be outlawed, because without smokers many states economies will suffer. Without the tax and settlement arrangements state programs would be tapped out, that includes public schools and welfare. Not to mention that sales and state taxes would have to increase to help offset it. It's simple don't go where you don't like. If I don't like your body odor am I going to ask you to move or move myself. If you want to restrict something restrict drinking I never heard of someone smoking and driving and killing a family. Freedom does include our right to do what we want within the law.

Oh I like this one....as a former smoker who quit almost 2 weeks ago....and will stay quit ( I have never really tried to stop in th e10 years I have smoked...I really am done)...I hate smoking in public. The only public places I would smoke in were clubs and bars...and I hardly go there....I would not smoke in my house either as I care about the health of my family and friends. I hated smoking at family functions...I would go behind the car or house or as far away from people as possible. I think I have been preparing to stop for a long time. I have been so embarassed about it for years.....Wish me a non hard time of quitting all!!!

I hate it when people Smoke especially in public! When you walk into a building you have to walk through all the smokers. Smokers smell, they litter all their cigarettes all over the ground, when you sit out side at a restaurant you have to deal with the smoke. I'm glad states are beginning to make it hard to smoke in public.

I am not a smoker, but I know those who smoke, especially my mom. When I was growing up, my mom always smoked outside, for respect of others around and her home. Like someone already stated, people shouldn't discriminate against public smoking, you should be worried about other chemicals inside your home and outside as well, those are just as deadly and can kill you. Those who smoke, that is THEIR choice. I just think there should be a happy medium for those who smoke and don't smoke. I don't like the smell of smoke and I surely don't like to eat and sit in a restaurant while people are smoking around me, so I just think it should be a compromise for those who smoke and for those who don't smoke. If you're talking about outside smoking....well surely you can't ban that, that is just plain discrimination right there.

I hate cigarette smoke. It stinks. I grew up with smokers for parents and my clothes always smelled. It makes me sick and my children are allergic. That being said, I feel like we're trying to alienate smokers. It's something that society will eventually give up but we have to give it time. My mom has smoked since 15 and is afraid to quit. I think it's ridiculous that there is no where on a hospital campus for people to smoke. What about the workers? It's not illegal to smoke. I constantly see employment ads stating, "Non-smokers only." We've made it legal to discriminate against smokers. There has to be a happy medium.

And no, on a hospital or school campus, you cannot smoke in your own vehicle.

That if I want a cig. when in public I should be able to smoke it. I don't mind not being able to smoke in a restaurant but on a side walk outside? That's just insane. I know not every one wants to be around it and I do my best not to smoke around non-smokers but if I just say got into a car accident and I'm a nervous wreck, I'm lighten up no matter who is there.

I worry about all of my loved ones that smoke, but I feel they have the right to do so in public.

I've seen worse things happen in public

if youre worried about 2nd hand smoke, chances are pretty good that you have more to worry about in the air you breathe in your home (with all the mold, allergens, chemicals) than you would from a whiff of a cigarette's smoke from someone smoking in public

as a smoker if feel of its on someone's private property then they have the right to decide whether to allow it or not, when it's a public grounds like schools, hospitals, libraries, etc. they also have the right, but when out on the street or sidewalk, or dirt road or field or your own backyard, then you should have the right to smoke. hell, we gotta go somewhere. i don't smoke in my own home, so i go outside.
