try applying for public assistance or see if the hospital has some kind of assistance.

You can probably find some help somewhere. How about victim's assistance? Your local law enforcement or district atty should be able to help you with a phone number for them. You can make payments as low as you want, even $10 a month. At least that's what's I've always been told. As long as you are paying on it there's nothing they can do.

I have a friend that asked the hospital about a charity program. They paid 100% of his hospital bills for the future and retroactively for three months. The amount they cover is dependant on annual income. On a sliding scale he had to make less than 26,000 a year to receive 100% help.

Contact the hospital and ask about Charity Care they usually only make you pay 20-40% and it is on a time scale period. I would also try to find out who shot the bullet and sue his/her a**. Also contact local social services and ask if they have anything to help with medical bill payment and explain your story. Good Luck

Take a look at this site https://www.prosper.com/public/groups/group_home.aspx?group_short_name=BaldEagleLoans

Depending on your credit history and income to make loan payments you may be able to obtain a loan.
