there's this "college financial counseling" company. it claimed to be a "leading" financial counseling company. there isn't one thing that comes up when I type in "Maglor counseling" (the company name.) it says its calling hours are 10am to 5am (weird.) however, when i called, there was no reply OR answering machine.

so i'm wondering: is it possible that you can get charged thousands of dollars just by calling a number? (i heard about it somewhere.) if so, what should i do?

Everything is typed on a piece of paper. It is called "Maglor Counseling, Inc." i was expecting it to show up in wikipedia, but it turns out it didn't even show up on google.

i think that the phone scam is probably to do with something else. if anyone knows if there is any way i can lose money from just calling that once, let me know. the number is 1-212-966-8296.

No, you can't get charged thousands of dollars just by calling a "regular" number. (A 900-number would result in charges.

You've got no connection to this "business," so you don't need to call it back.

wow. well, when i searched "maglor counseling" all i got was like fan fiction and stuff. it sounds like you got scamed. i can't tell you how to find out whether you got scamed or not. where did you hear about this? maybe whoever told you said something different and you just misheard. why don't you ask who told you what the name of the company is again? you might get a different answer. hope this helps.
