it means to stop acting like you are better than everyone else. stop acting like you are the only one with problems or your problems are worse than everyone elses.

When someone says "to get over yourself", what I believe they mean to say is that you need to stop being so vain, believing as you probably do that everyone and everything is about you, or that everyone should be about you, and that everything should be about you, because everyone isn't nor will everything be about you. When someone say "to get over yourself", what I believe they mean to say is that the world doesn't and won't revolve around you, so you should stop acting as if the world does or will revolve around you.
