I am a 25 semi-healthy female, who has tried many times to get pregnant. I have had an irregular period since I was 18 (well, actually I haven't had a period since then). I do spot from time to time, and very afraid to see a doctor (plus can't afford one). I really want a child, I feel that it is the only thing now missing from my life. I was married, husband ran out years ago because of lies and problems, I really want a child. Please help, give some advice.

➔ Trying to Conceive
I am semi healthy because I am overweight, and don't really eat or exercise the way I should be.
My kidneys are fine, I have both of them and they are functional.

Not having a regular period since you were 18 is not normal. You need to see your doctor to find out why.
You say you are afraid to see your doctor. Could this be because you feel something is wrong? That is how I felt for years...then I went to see a reproductive endocronoligst. And, eventually conceived.
If you can't afford a doctor please read 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility'. It will tell you all you need about how to get pregnant and some potential complications.
I suffer from PCOS and know that it can cause missed periods and periods that last for months.
Being overweight and underactive can aggrivate PCOS.

You haven't had a period since you were 18? Spotting from time to time instead of a period for 7 years is not normal. This may be way you can't get pregnant. See a doctor to figure out what is wrong.
If you don't want to see a doctor, get the book, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler and read it. It'll teach you signs of fertility or if you are even ovulating at all. If there is a problem physiologically, this may give you an indication.

It sounds like you aren't ovulating or aren't ovulating much. And if you aren't ovulating, then there's no chance of getting pregnant.
If you are quite a bit overweight, the extra weight can interfere with normal ovulation. Basically when you are very overweight you end up having excess estrogen, and your body thinks it doesn't need to make FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) because it already has enough estrogen. No FSH means no stimulation of egg growth so no ovulation.
Even if you cannot afford a doctor, you can start by taking care of yourself, eating healthfully and exercising. For many women simply losing weight has restored their normal ovulation and hence their fertility. Start slowly and build up. Eat a multi-grain, non-sugary cereal with milk for breakfast, salad with lean protein for lunch, cut down on junk food, sugar, white carbs. Drink water and nothing else (squeeze in a wedge of lemon for flavor if you want). Bring healthy snacks with you and eat every 2-3 hours so you stabilize your blood sugars and don't reach for bad snacks. Healthy snacks can be an apple, some baby carrots with hummus, celery sticks with peanut butter, other fruits. Do three 10-minute walks a day and build up to more.

Well the best thing I can tell you is to see a doctor try getting medicaid. You might not want to go that route but it's something that can help you. By you not having a period since 18 and having irregular periods that hurts you in having a baby also. I am going through the same thing but my problem is that I received chemotherapy and radiation therapy in my head and neck. It messed with my kidneys and my possibilities are still there but they are very slim. I see a doctor and he is helping me. By you saying semi health what do you mean? Good Luck

You really should see a Dr. maybe you could get on a payment plan, or qualify for some help. But with your period and all like that, you may have some trouble concieving and/or carrying a baby. After a visit, a doc, can give you all the advice you need on becoming pregnant
