If the towers were burning at such a high degree (3000) that would warrant the steel to melt, therefore possibly collasping them, why were there people standing in the gaping holes in the buildings waiting for help. Wouldn't it have been too hot? There is footage of them standing in the crevices of the buildings. Before some begin to jump to their deaths.

Again, 3000 degrees is the temperature needed for steel to melt.

LARRY D - As a matter of fact, the widely touted culprit of 9/11 (jet fuel) has a maximum burn temperature equal to only 60% of that required to melt steel. (Jet Fuel's maximum burn temperature is less than 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit.) The other fuel sources, (Desks, carpet, paper, etc.) could have reached temperatures of up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit under ideal conditions. -But that is still less than 75% of what would have been required to create the widely reported "pools of molten steel."

Who's the BONEHEAD?

This is another aspect of that defies common sense, and what type of closed directed 3000 degrees do you need. How cheaper could steel be produced if jet fuel burning could melt it. Guess producer never figured out what cheaper blast furnace they could use. What is the average temperature of house furance after hour of use seems strange that steel can become brittle and fall apart so easily but have no specific knowledge just wondering mind, and didn't plane hit upper top of twin tower building. This method seemed to work so efficiently does anyone know of other buildings imploded by this method.

The design of the structure of the building was not the same as the Empire State Building, which in the past also suffered a plane collision.

In part, due to this differing structure design, such an impact and fire did not require the high temperatures for melting steel. At lower temperatures than that resulting from the jet fuel, steel will loose its internal integrity. That is why (in tests) a 40 foot, 16 inch by 16 inch wood beam will out last a 16 inch steel I-beam in terms of maintaining its carrying strength.

All of this was addressed in the official report and numerous engineers. In retrospect the collapse of the towers was nothing unusual under the circumstances.

The fire insulation sprayed onto the joists spanning the flooring was knocked off due to the impact of the planes hitting the towers. It was also found that those same joists were not welded as the designed called for, but bolted instead. As the heat built up the joists started to bow downward and the weight from all of the debris finally caused one floor to collapse, which started a pancake effect.

What is the point of your question, are you a conspiracy theorist?
Whatever the reason, thousands died from a despicable act.

Okay you need to get your ducks in a row. The steel was weakened not completly melted. At 2000 degrees steel becomes weaker so when you got tons of office buildings above, well I hope you get the picture.

Hey BONEHEAD, do your own research! The reason many jumped to their deaths was because it eas too hot. Steel becomes brittle and breaks long before it melts. The towers didn't turn into puddles of molten steel, they CRUMBLED and COLLAPSED ON THEMSELVES.

Rumours are that the core caught fire and that was what heated up. But yeah, again sketchy explainations, alot of the jet fuel exploded outside the buildings when the wings sheared off, thus those impressive fireballs.

But steel will begin to lose It's strength at 900 degrees. at 1600 degrees its like mush. Bone Head

This will likely get deleted, but oh well. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. What on earth are you trying to infer? that it was some kind of fiction? Or something that was concoted for TV by some agency? Are you kidding me? I am always open to discuss things, even touchy subjects, but this sort of aspect is simply absurd. What are you trying to conclude? IT HAPPENED. I doubt this will change your mind i suppose, but oh well. i had to say it.
