this question is just out of curiousity... i've found the guy that i want to spend the rest of my life with... i heard the song "god blessed the broken road, that led me straight to you..." and was thinking about my life and what choices i've made that brought me to where i am, and the guy i'm with.... and this question popped in my head....

I married my 2nd serious bf. I just knew he was the one. It's hard to explain but it's one of those things you just know. I couldn't be w/out him, needed to be near him but not in a smothering way. I to this day don't have any regrets. I know you asked about the first but the way I see it, if he is the one for you it shouldn't matter if he was the first or the 31st.

I had a few serious relationships a quite a lot of dates. Before I married. but I don't think that this question has an answer in it for you. Each of us have our own up-bring and morals. The best advice I can give you is go with your heart. If you are an adult. If you are not yet 18, give it some time and enjoy the things you wont ever get to do again. relationships will be apart of your life for the rest of your life, not all other experiences will be available later in life. my main philosophy.... make your self happy, after all you are the only person you have to live with for the rest of your life.

I am engaged so I don't know if that counts :) But I had one very casual boyfriend, then one serious boyfriend, and now my current fiance. I have no regrets for not dating more people. I've made out with more than the three, but obviously that is not a relationship. I have learned plenty about relationships and people from just being alive, and also being raised in a household where relationships and communication were/are very important.

the question really is what is causing you to doubt? the truth is some of my frIEnds and even my brother are happily married to their 'first love' but others have had numerous attempts to find a husband/wife. relationships are about testing the way two people relate and work together with a view to something long term ie Marriage (for the most part). so how have you tested? not what strategies have you used but rather what has been the results of your interactions, have they led to each being expanded and improved or do you find each limiting the other in a range of areas (I'm not talking about making adjustments) if your unsure keep testing. air-crafts have heaps of tests before companies commit to putting you in them if your unsure don't board and untested relationship and crash.

I dated four different women before meeting my wife, was divorced two years later.Dated three more before meeting my second wife, that lasted 12 years before ending in divorce. And now i swear I'll never do it again but have a woman that completes me in every way and she doesn't want to get married either. The only true regret i have is,as much as i loved my second wife and she wiped her feet on my heart without taking off her shoes(LOL) I wish i had never married her, chances are we would still be together. But i thank GOD everyday that i still have the ability to love and receive it as well. All thanks to him.

I married my first boyfriend. I was with him for 5 years and I don't regret it at all. I just knew he was the one by everything he did and we shared together.

I married my first boyfriend.
We were best friends since we could talk (had cribs next to each other in the hospital).
Promised to always be together when we were 8.
He finally confessed he had fallen in love with me when we were 13.
Got engaged at 18, married at 19...and still happy!
