no its not illegal and i think you need to knock until he says it is okay to enter the room. That is the point of knocking. As for preventing it, he is an adult just like you. Be happy he is not running around impregnating girls. I say leave him alone about it. He is just as embarresed as you are, TRUST ME.

It is perfectly legal... The way I see it (As a young personw ho grew up on the internet) cyber sex is alot safer than real sex... If he is pleasing him self in his own room while talking to someone through a computer, there is no chance of anyone getting pregnant, or contracting an STD.. Personally mom, I think i woud leave it alone and let him be an 18 year old boy... It's pretty much a typical thing this day and age... Just remember no one can get hurt this way...

RE:
Is cyber sex illegal? Please read details….?
Ok here’s the situation, last night before I went to bed I went to say goodnight to my kids. One is 16 years old and the other is 18 both in high school. I said goodnight to my 16 year old and then moved to my 18 year olds room. I knocked once and opened the door, and my son quickly turned off his...

First, Cyber sex is NOT illegal and your son will NOT get in any trouble for such activities, unless the girls parents find out and decide to contact you about their relationship.
Second, this is, in our current society, a slightly normal way of advancing in relationships that are long-distance, so if you attempt to 'stop' him from communicating with the girl, you could cause problems, not only with his relationship with her, but also with his relationship with you.
The best bet is to invite this young lady out to meet the family.
Consider the alternative: Non-Cyber sex with your 18 year old and this girl. If you think about it, this is better than the consequences that could appear, such as preganancy or STD's.

As far as I know, its not illegal. It's just like phone sex. It's a lot safer than actualy intercourse, but if you or your religious beliefs are against masturbation, than you may want to talk to your teen about his actions in response to your beliefs. At the same time, he's 18, she's 18 and you can't get pregnant from it.

It's perfectly legal and being that your son is 18, i'd say that it's safe sex. I personally would try to keep an open relationship with your son as far as your worrys about internet preditors, but at the same time he has all the hormones of an 18 yr old boy and maturbation is normal. Give him his privacy!
Voice your concerns if they are genuine, agologize for intruding and never mention it again. Face it mom, your son is old enough to go off to war, he is certainly old enough to masturbate to whatever he wants. Be glad he is at home and safe!

It is illegal if you do it with minors but as long as it's an legal age then it's ok but I probably wouldn't even talk to anyone you don't know because you could be chatting to a minor whose posing as an adult and you will be in huge trouble. So watch what you say online. I did see this thing on Dateline NBC on how to catch a predator and it looks like the police are really tracing pedophiles online so watch what you say.

Haha, sounds like you are a normal controlling parent. Cyber sex is only illegal if it's not consensual. Just be glad your son is not just whacking it to a picture of some fake boobed bimbo.

No, cyber sex is not illegal. You will NOT prevent this from ever happening again. I would think it is a form of masturbation and perfectly normal. just about all of us masturbated at that age. Hell, I know I did.

No i don't believe cybersex is illegal but to tell you the truth there is nothing you can really do to prevent him from doing this unless you take his computer away. He is 18 and is old enough to make his own decisions i also understand that he is probably still in school and is still living under your roof so he has to respect your rules. All i can say to you is to either accept the fact that he is old enough to do this or take away his computer. Good luck!
