I think it's just something to do, and there is a different way for everyone! Just try making up a random beat or "playing" your favorite song. It will turn out sounding cool!

I think it's really cool, too. I wish I could play rhythms.

See if you can get one of the guys to do a short rhythm for you, and you repeat it. You often see real drummers jamming with each other this way -- they might start out with a bom-bom-bom, and the other guy goes bom-bom-bom, then they work up to more complicated rhythms.

Also, check out videos or DVDs from the library that feature percussion concerts. You can practice at home, stop when you need too, and learn some new rhythms.

It'll take time and practice, but I think it's a great skill to have. And when you get good, be sure to help someone else who wants to learn!

Ignore the drums for now, focus on what the professior / teacher is saying then you will be smart enough to design and play drumbs after school is out. When all those people are signing up for Community College, you will have Harvard Calling....

Who gets the last drumb then?

with the right hand... keep time (a steady tempo helps)
with the left hand ... play on on the third beat of every measure, there being four beats in every measure (snare drum)

that's a straight ahead pencil rock beat in 4.. for a more uh.. punky beat try playing on beats 2 and 4 with the left hand while keeping time with the right hand..

haha dont do that its so annoying. You must be in middle school because thats when all those idiot boys used to do it. If you are in highschool those guys must think they are so cool, but everyone else thinks they are being annoying and immature, dont waste your time.

LMFAO. Seriously, how old are you. So you don't fit in with these "popular" kids. Big deal. I can tell you it is not going to make you cool if you do it.
